Hey Guys,
Got another topic for you:spyware. What do you do to stop it? Do you mind it being on your computer or what? (I really don't like the idea of people spying on our system, so I use Ad-aware and Spybot-Search and Destroy as well as Bazooka Spyware Scanner. All of them are free and can be found at [HYPERLINK@www.download.com.] Spyware scanners also remove popups from programs you may have downloaded with popup ads. Also does Windows have any protection from this? Or is this an open area?

Spybot has an immunize setting to block known threats in advanced mode but other than that, you should continue to update and scan on schedule.
As for Windows, the OS is not really aware that these things are inside it. A parasite is a good analogy in that a host is not aware it is infested with a 'good' parasite. Be vigilant! Be watchful! Be aware!

You could try the beta version of Windows Defender. [HYPERLINK@www.microsoft.com]
It provides better active protection than Spybot or Ad-aware. |
