Hi!

I'm new to this forum; I'm 16, home-schooled, living in Ontario, Canada, and am interested in learning to write programs, but know nothing about it. I've read a few of the older threads on this forum, where Delphi or Visual Basic was suggested for beginners. Keeping in mind that I don't have a lot of money to spend on it, what would be a good starting place right now? (The threads I read were a few years old and are probably not up-to-date in regards to the versions, etc.).

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

Look into C# Express and Ruby. C# express because that is the free version of the language, and ruby because it is cross platform and is extremely powerful on the web.
